Sexual Ability as a Human Faculty
The presence of sexual ability in man is a sign of his health, just like other abilities (vision, hearing), whose presence indicates that he is a healthy person.
The regulation of this sexual ability becomes very effective and productive for man in his life. These abilities are essential for man’s growth, nurturing, fostering, and for meeting the purpose of life in this world and the hereafter.
Abilities like speech, vision, intellect, thinking, and pondering are meant for these purposes.
But at the same time, for their proper use, Allah has created a system and policies for utilizing these abilities, and if these are ignored, then the same abilities become destructive.
When deviation or rebellion develops within the inner abilities of man, it definitely destroys him.
Hence, these abilities should be utilized properly in an organized and managed form.
Unlike many other abilities, which develop gradually over time, the sexual ability is strong from the moment it awakens; it does not merely become strong with age.
Hence, it is proved and agreed by all scholars that this is the most powerful ability inside man, which affects every aspect of human life and dominates all other abilities.
Consequences of Ignoring Regulation
In most of the sciences it is mentioned that if man does not regulate sexual ability, it develops rebellion and becomes highly destructive. The example quoted by the Qur’an is of the community of Lut. They had the same ability, but it became deviated and destroyed them. This is just an example and not the only deviation that was present in that community. Today, far more deviations are present in our era, across various communities.
Taqwa, Marriage, and Chastity
Taqwa is the protection mechanism ordained by Allah for this, which is presented in two stages: Marriage and chastity (Iffah). These are the basis of achieving Taqwa. Marriage is the fundamental basis for this, and it also occurs in various stages. The first stage is to protect the private parts. There are various verses, out of which two verses were recited to you from Surah Noor and Surah Mominoon. In both, the map of a believing society is presented, and among these, protecting private parts is an essential policy of a society of believers.
In Surah Noor, both men and women are asked to control two things: the first is the eyes, which should be lowered — meaning do not look at private parts or at Na-Mahram — and the second is to cover your private parts.
Guidance from Surah Ahzab
The third verse is verse 35 in Surah Ahzab.
The verse prior to this presents one more policy, referred to the wives of the Prophet (s):
يَا نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ ۚ إِنِ اتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ وَقُلْنَ قَوْلًا مَعْرُوفًا
O wives of the Prophet! you are not like any other of the women; If you will be on your guard, then be not soft in (your) speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease yearn; and speak a good word.
33}
The verse says that the social status of the wives of the Prophet (s) and other women is different.
You should acquire Taqwa, and in this, when you speak to men you should not be soft and tender in your speech, as that would give an indication to the man to proceed forward. This happens normally when a woman is on a phone call or in a cab, when she says in Urdu “Bhaijaan” — this shows softness. He cannot be your brother, and there are so many cases when a woman calls a man her brother but then enters into a relationship with him. Mahram men and women cannot be brothers and sisters. The Prophet (s), after reaching Medina, made men as brothers to each other and not between men and women. This is an innate nature of man.
The verse says that the intent and desire come inside man. The woman shows gentleness, and it is the man who gets inclined. We need to have gender recognition for men and women.
The Qur’an says women do not get sexually inclined towards men. Rather, it is the softness, gestures, and dialogues of women that are signals to men, making them inclined.
The woman should not do this and must be careful. This is the reason the wives of the Prophet (s) were told not to be soft in speaking to men, otherwise those whose hearts are diseased will be inclined. Whenever there is a need to talk to a Na-Mahram man, then use “Kaul e Maaroof” — meaning something that is to the point and recognized. You can answer what is being questioned, but your answer should not carry any attraction.
وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَىٰ ۖ وَأَقِمْنَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتِينَ الزَّكَاةَ وَأَطِعْنَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنْكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا
And stay in your houses and do not display your finery like the displaying of the ignorance of yore; and keep up prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and obey Allah and His Messenger.
Allah only desires to keep away the uncleanness from you, O people of the House! and to purify you a (thorough) purifying.
Then the next verse says that you should stay at home, which is better. And do not show Tabarruj of the era of ignorance. This means the ornamentations and demonstrations which those women were doing. Establish Salaat, pay Zakaat, and obey Allah and His Messenger.
Then the next verse:
وَاذْكُرْنَ مَا يُتْلَىٰ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَالْحِكْمَةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ لَطِيفًا خَبِيرًا
And keep to mind what is recited in your houses of the communications of Allah and the wisdom; surely Allah is Knower of subtleties, Aware.The address of these verses was the wives of the Prophet (s), but it is applicable to all women.
Then, after this, verse 35 comes, which presents how the Muslim men and women should be in a Muslim society:
إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ … وَالذَّاكِرَاتِ أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ مَغْفِرَةً وَأَجْرًا عَظِيمًا
Surely the men who submit and the women who submit … Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a mighty reward.
For Muslim men and women are addressed in plural here, which means it is for Muslim society.
When the entire society possesses these attributes, then Allah has forgiveness and a great reward.
Among these attributes, one specifically mentioned is that men and women protect and safeguard their private parts. They guard them from everything that arouses the private parts or sexually excites them. There are various threats to sexual ability other than just intermingling of men and women.
Satan’s First Attack on Man
The first attack done by Satan was to make Adam and Eve eat something which exposed their private parts, meaning it aroused their sexual ability.
Satan did not touch them, but simply whispered to them to eat something which he suggested would be very useful — one benefit being that they would gain governance that would never end.
In this case, the attack was on private parts, i.e., on sexual ability, but not explicitly; instead, it was on the mind, leading them to eat something which resulted in the arousal of this ability.
Their private parts became exposed, and they began to conceal them with leaves, realizing their mistake. The first attack on man by Satan was on the private parts.
The order to protect private parts is for this reason. It is not that if someone undresses it is an attack on private parts; rather, the attack can come through various ways. It could be a place, a party, or a function where there is the possibility of sexual arousal. Satan takes man to such places, and then, when sexual ability is aroused, the rest is carried out by this ability. Satan only ignites, and the rest is done by the ability.
In Pakistan, the science behind terrorism and sexual attacks is the same.
When terrorists set off a blast, the explosion is big, but it is ignited by a small detonator pin.
Satan does the same thing — he ignites the “Sau’a” (private parts).
Allah kept this ammunition inside man, and Satan led them to the tree to eat something, which was the detonator, and they exploded. Their private parts became exposed, and it became challenging for them to conceal them. They started to hide with leaves, but it went so much out of control that they became ineligible to live in that garden. Hence, they had to leave that place and come down to earth.
This fire would not extinguish in that garden. They had to come down and repent.
The first attack of Satan was on private parts, and that too was indirect and implicit.
Something you eat enters the mind and activates this ability.
Modern Triggers of Sexual Arousal
This was at a time when there was no internet, social media, or AI — and there were just two human beings — yet we can see how powerful the sexual ability is, igniting with just one morsel. Today, so many things are present to arouse and ignite sexual ability.
Certain things are secret, but since many students come to us, I get to hear astonishing stories. In some people, this sexual arousal is triggered from a very early age. I am referring to those cases which have been reported directly to me. I asked a youth where this deviation started. He said it was from his parents. Though they were husband and wife, they were not managing it properly. The child saw that, and this ability became aroused in him. Neither he could control it nor could the parents manage it, and this resulted in destruction.
These are things present in every home. What Satan did with Adam and Eve is being repeated by all of us with our children. If you do not protect your private parts, then despite all the other attributes you present as believers in this verse, everything else will drown.
The protection of private parts is not just to wear pants; it means to avoid everything that arouses sexual ability, which can be through vision, listening, and observing — both inside the home and outside. You should lower your gaze.
Further Quranic Guidance on Protecting Private Parts
Another area where the Qur’an has mentioned protecting private parts is in Surah Ma’arij:
وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ
And those who guard their private parts,
إِلَّا عَلَىٰ أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
Except in the case of their wives or those whom their right hands possess — for these surely are not to be blamed,
فَمَنِ ابْتَغَىٰ وَرَاءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ
But he who seeks to go beyond this, these it is that go beyond the limits—
Prior to these verses, man is made to recognize his natural abilities.
We began one discussion about the recognition of man from the perspective of the Qur’an.
The Creator Himself has introduced man.
Man’s Temperament According to the Qur’an
The verses start with one attribute of man — that he is Harees, meaning he wants to do everything for himself.
Then he is Bakheel, meaning he does not allow anything to go out of his hands.
Haloo is the combination of both.
إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا
Surely man is created of a hasty temperament.
Man is Haloo — meaning not ready to give anything to anyone.
إِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ جَزُوعًا
Being greatly grieved when evil afflicts him.
When difficulty comes, he becomes Jazoo, meaning he starts to cry, mourn, and makes a lot of noise about his pain, complaining to everyone. Patience is when man becomes determined and remains steadfast.
وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا
And niggardly when good befalls him.
Then he is Manoo, meaning if I have received some goodness, I do not allow anyone else to partake in it — except those who are “Musalleen”.
The Exception of the Musalleen
Those who do Salaat are not Haloo, Jazoo, and Manoo; instead, they do Infaq of everything.
وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا
And niggardly when good befalls him.
إِلَّا الْمُصَلِّينَ
Except those who pray,
الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَائِمُونَ
Those who are constant at their prayer,
وَالَّذِينَ فِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ مَعْلُومٌ
And those in whose wealth there is a fixed portion,
لِلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ
For him who begs and for him who is denied (good).
They are those who are permanently in the state of Salaat.
If you translate Salaat merely as ritual prayers, then this does not apply, because you will find that most who pray ritual Salaat are still Haloo, Jazoo, and Manoo.
Then they believe in the Hereafter and are afraid of the wrath of Allah, and the wrath of Allah is such that no one is secure from it.
وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ
And those who guard their private parts,
إِلَّا عَلَىٰ أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
Except in the case of their wives or those whom their right hands possess — for these surely are not to be blamed,
فَمَنِ ابْتَغَىٰ وَرَاءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ
But he who seeks to go beyond this, these it is that go beyond the limits—
They protect their private parts, except with their wives and those legitimately permissible.
And if someone exposes his private parts to others, meaning he goes beyond limits, then they are Aadoon — distanced from Allah and in enmity with Him.
They are the people who possess these attributes, and by being free of these vices, they are meant for a noble station in Paradise.
Beyond Protection: Regulating Sexual Ability
Protecting the private parts is the first obligation on man after creation, and you must ascertain this. But merely protecting them does not end the story. After this, you must regulate the sexual ability.When there is a flood, the dam controls it to some extent, but once the water goes out of control, destruction follows. The sexual ability inside man is a tsunami that cannot be controlled by merely protecting private parts.
Today’s youth study in co-educational environments, work in mixed settings, and use the internet — yet they are still considered pure. This is a deception. They carry deviation and rebellion inside but present themselves as if they have protected their private parts. Until you find a legitimate exit route for this arousal, it will manifest elsewhere. Even swearing using sexual terms is an outlet for this internal arousal. This matter will come out through other means if the right place is not provided.If the wife is not satisfying the desires of the husband, then she will have to cry for her whole life.
This would result in destruction, like a flood.
Marriage as the Only Legitimate Exit
The first point is that Allah has kept this ability in full strength. The second point is that it expresses itself through the exposure of private parts, which must be protected. The third point is that the only legitimate exit route is marriage, as prescribed by Allah. Though there are other routes, they are forbidden.
After this, Allah has set a system of marriage and how it should function. The current marriage system might only contain 10% of the divine marital system. We have ignored 90% of the divine marital system, and hence, despite marriage, sexual Taqwa is not seen.
You can see post-marital affairs of both men and women. In every home, men are under suspicion. The woman will check and find signs of her husband’s relationship with some other woman. Then the entire life is spent in conflict. If your behavior with your husband is not correct, then be assured that he is in some relationship with another woman — perhaps not physically, but on the internet, Facebook, or elsewhere.
If you do not want your husband to look at someone else, then develop all of his attraction towards yourself. And you are permitted to do everything he desires so that he remains attracted to you. The management of sexual life is centered around man, which we will discuss later.
SERMON 2
Humanity and the Absence of Taqwa
Today we have a dead human society due to the lack of Taqwa. Humanity is supposed to be the center of the system of human life created by Allah. Yet we can clearly see what is happening in Gaza and, against that, what is happening in the world — this proves that humanity is non-existent. At present, a UN General Assembly conference is ongoing, with nearly two hundred countries in attendance. In this conference, the very first speech was delivered by the Secretary, and he openly mentioned that humanity has ended from the world. The fact that human beings, a whole race, are being killed while the entire world remains silent is proof that there is no humanity left.
This conference itself is nothing more than a drama, where actors are performing scripted roles. Yet within this drama, the issue of Gaza is dominating the proceedings. Most of the heads of state are speaking on this matter. The biggest actor this year once again is Erdogan. Many countries are condemning Israel and accepting Palestine as a state. The biggest drama regarding Palestine’s acceptance, however, has been staged by Britain. This community and their rulers are the mothers of evil. Trump and America are merely the illegitimate children of Britain. The greatest hypocrisy from Britain is that they have now “accepted” the Palestinian state. This so-called acceptance means that on the land of Palestine, Israel exists — and now Palestine will also be “accepted” alongside it. This is a drama that they were forced to enact. Only America and a handful of micro-nations remain unwilling to accept Palestine.
What is happening right now at the United Nations is something we will discuss further in current affairs.
The Politics of Gaza and Palestine
Six Muslim leaders have already met Trump, and he has presented a so-called formula of 21 points to resolve the issue of Palestine. Alongside this, many other footnotes and side dealings are taking place. This is a unique conference where Gaza completely dominates the agenda, leaving no space for any other topic to be prioritized. This in itself is a great success for the Palestinians and Hamas. Despite efforts to completely destroy them, they have survived and turned themselves into the central point of human conscience and global thought.
However, this does not mean that a Palestinian state will actually be established — it is only another drama being played out. These stars of Palestine, of whom around 65,000 have been martyred, are not a loss for the world. We should not despair, because when stars die, the sun rises. This is what is happening now on the horizon of the world.
Even though the Satans are still dominating, and even though six Muslim countries have expressed loyalty to Satan — which they will continue to do — the resistance of Palestinians and Yemen has shown the true path. Imam Khomeini (r.a) used to say: Eventually, we all must die, so it is better to die a dignified death.
They (the enemies) are determined to destroy you, but this path of resistance will continue. Though these beasts attempt to stage drama after drama, despite all their efforts to annihilate Palestine, the Palestinians have proved that today the name of Palestine is on every tongue.
True Success for Palestine
The real solution and success for Palestine is not in the recognition of a Palestinian state. The true success will only be when Israel is completely destroyed and the entire land is returned as Palestine.
The salutations and tributes the world is now offering to Palestinians are themselves a ray of hope. Allah will grant success to Palestine.
