Natural Growth of Sexual Ability
There are many materialistic potentials present inside human beings, but the ability that grows and becomes powerful organically is the sexual ability. It does not require cultivation, farming, or any special arrangement. Just as grasses, bushes, and farms grow naturally when they receive water during the monsoon, similarly, in man, certain potentials need nurturing, while others are organic and only need a stimulus. The foremost of such natural potentials is sexual ability. This is natural and not abnormal.
Allah’s System for Managing Sexuality
The way Allah has made systems and arrangements for other affairs, He has also organized a beautiful system for managing this ability. According to the Qur’an, there are three stratagems:
Taqwa (piety) for protection.
Iffah (chastity), also generic but more effective in sexual management.
Nikah (marriage), which is specific to sexual affairs.
The Example of Prophet Lut’s Society
In Surah Hud, Ayah 78, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) narrates an incident where sexual immorality had crossed all limits, and Prophet Lut (a) presented two solutions: marriage and Taqwa.
When the angels of Allah came to Lut in human form, he feared for them in such a corrupted society. He told his people to adopt Taqwa and not disgrace him regarding his guests, offering them marriage as the lawful path.
The Qur’an presents this as an example of a sexually extremist, indisciplined, and corrupt society. This disease was not exclusive to the community of Lut—it existed before and after.
Comparison with Modern Societies
If we look at our society today, the people of Lut would feel ashamed before us. Globally, there are societies more disgraceful than ours. India is among the top three countries where sexual corruption has crossed all limits. Pakistan too, nurtured by Indian culture, is following this path.
The Example of Adam (a) and the Divine Plan of Marriage
When Adam was created, Allah did not let him remain alone even for a single day. He was married immediately. His problem was not loneliness; rather, he possessed all human abilities that demanded fulfillment.
Allah made arrangements for food and shelter in the Garden, allowed consumption of all except the forbidden, but before entry into the Garden, it was said: “O Adam, you and your spouse enter the Garden.” Thus, Adam was married before settling there. Unlike today’s thinking that house and job come before marriage, Allah established marriage first, then provided everything else.
The blessings of Adam’s marriage exist in the form of humanity today. Satan interfered in his sexual life by enticing him toward the forbidden tree under the guise of immortality and power. The real aim was to arouse and disturb Adam’s sexual ability. Eating from the tree exposed their private parts—meaning their sexual impulses became abnormally stimulated. The first attack on Adam was sexual. Once aroused, Adam could not think of Allah or reason.
Allah then sent him to earth, ordering him to manage life with the experience gained. The first law for his children was also marriage as the shield against corruption. Without it, society becomes like the community of Lut or worse.
Modern Sexual Corruption and Its Dangers
Across Pakistan, advertisements for treatment of sexual weakness cover doors and walls. People secretly visit such places, ashamed to be seen. Social media too is flooded with such material.
No one guides this ability properly, and when left unchecked, it expresses itself in molestations, transgressions, and hidden crimes. The worst of all is masturbation, which is even more common than adultery, homosexuality, and sodomy. It destroys abilities, drives people to drugs, suicide, and extremism.
The Qur’an, Prophets, and Ahlulbayt (a) emphasized its seriousness. All Imams married at an early age. The Prophet (s) delayed marriage only because there was no suitable partner in the polytheistic society, yet he married even before the start of revelation. He accepted the proposal of Khadijah (a) despite her age. Imam Ali (a) too married early. When he hesitated to propose for Fatima (a), the Prophet (s) himself encouraged him.
Qur’anic System vs Western Diagnosis
Western philosophers rightly diagnosed sexual corruption as a social disease but presented wrong solutions. The Qur’an gives the most beautiful, comprehensive, and natural system through marriage, chastity, and Taqwa. Though marriage exists in all cultures by human fitrah, the Qur’an refined it with divine structure.
Marriage and Chastity in Surah Noor
Alongside marriage, the Qur’an presents chastity (Iffah). In Surah Noor 24:32:
Marry those who are single, even among slaves. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them. Poverty is not an excuse.
Example from the Imams
A poor man asked an Imam for money. The Imam told him to marry. Annoyed, he repeated his request, but the Imam replied: marriage is the key to sustenance.
The author also relates his personal experience: despite extreme poverty, elders advised him to marry. He borrowed 2,500 Rs, repaid over years, and witnessed Allah’s promise fulfilled.
Chastity (Iffah) as Temporary Strategy
In Surah Noor 24:33, Allah commands those unable to marry to remain chaste until He provides.
وَلْيَسْتَعْفِفِ الَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ نِكَاحًا حَتَّىٰ يُغْنِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ…
Marriage completes half—or two-thirds—of religion. If genuine reasons prevent marriage, chastity must be maintained. But chastity is only temporary, like medicine before surgery. Once obstacles are removed, one must marry immediately.
The Necessity and Timing of Marriage
It is foolish to think sexual protection comes from anything other than marriage. Those who avoid marriage often destroy themselves through masturbation. In Christianity, priests were forbidden marriage, and churches became centers of corruption.
Marriage must occur at the right time. Right things at the wrong time, or wrong things at the right time, are both harmful. If obstacles exist, practice chastity until marriage is possible—but the ultimate solution remains marriage.
Social Discipline and Protection from Sin
The verse also warns against pushing slaves or children toward prostitution or delaying their marriage. Creating obstacles leads to rebellion and adultery. Today, in an age of media, sins are widespread—in homes, societies, and even religious circles. Cases of immorality in madrasas expose this.
Even some who preach Taqwa fall into such sins. The Qur’an warns against withholding marriage, as this indirectly encourages corruption.
Marriage as the Core Solution
The actual plan is marriage, while Iffah (chastity) is only a temporary alternative. The true method is Taqwa through marriage. Marriages fail when forced against children’s will or based on family interests. The main cause of failed marriages is sexual imbalance.
Discipline in Married Life
Even after marriage, sexual discipline is necessary until the end of life. Married life requires planning and strategy within this area of human ability. Man and woman must know and follow the divine laws and practices for managing sexual life.
SERMON 2
Loss of Humanity Without Taqwa
Man without Taqwa foregoes humanity. In the era in which we are living, we can find everything but not humanity. Allah has examined this generation for humanity, and it has been proven that there is no human being in this generation.
The Test of Gaza
The most bitter test is that of Gaza, where there is human genocide and starvation. There are 47,000 trucks of food aid standing on the border of Gaza but not allowed to go inside. They don’t even have water to drink. The skinned bodies of children are published, people grieve for a while, and then start to eat their food.
Silence of Muslim Rulers and Scholars
The beastly Muslim rulers issue statements only, and they are more lowly than the oppressors. A few days back in Hejaz, there was an OIC conference where our Prime Minister also issued statements and returned. No practical steps were taken. Everyone says the international community should do something—so are these people not the international community themselves? The power-hungry rulers support tyrants and do this for the sake of power, and this worship and pursuit of power definitely makes them lowly.
But what about others like scholars who do not have any power? If something is spoken against their sect, they come out on the streets. For two continuous years, oppression has been going on in Gaza and no one comes out. It proves that they are not humans.
True Humanity in Resistance
Today, the only human beings are those who have taken some step to stop this oppression. There are people in the Western world who have supported the oppressed. Even a pop singer whose body is naked speaks against tyrants. Those who have made parties and organizations are silent.
This is a big tragedy, and it can be ended. Even if a few hundred thousand people want, they can do this. If these people gather, then in one day people can decide on Gaza. At present, there is not even atom-sized pressure on tyrants. The only pressure was from resistance groups, but that too has been weakened by treachery. They are now planning to end Hezbollah and Hashad al-Shaabi. The people can apply pressure on their own rulers and these tyrants—pressure to such an extent that they will come down to their knees.
Pakistan’s Role and Lowliness
Pakistan is a nation of passionate people, and the benefits which they give to foreign companies no one else is doing. They are trading with them, educating their children in their universities. They are expelling students from universities who take the name of Palestine, and yet we are supporting them. A community becomes so lowly that they recommend a Nobel Prize for a tyrant.
The way Yazid announced that he would reward those who oppressed Imam Hussain (a) in any form—they did everything, and it was being recorded. Some got rewarded for this. Khouli, Shimr—all got rewarded. Now we are giving Nobel Prizes for killing General Qasem Soleimani, for destroying Gaza, for murdering the children of Gaza. If these rulers were present in Karbala, they would have done more oppression than Shimr and Khouli. This is a disgrace that Pakistan should wipe away.
This is the most lowly thing Pakistan has done. They have committed many such crimes, but this is the biggest crime. Zia-ul-Haq killed thousands of Palestinians, but this is an even worse lowliness—that we recommend them for the Nobel Peace Prize. In Muharram, the lovers of Imam Hussain did not do anything, and in Rabi al-Awwal, the lovers of the Prophet (s) also did nothing.
Humanity as the Essence of Religion
If people in Britain are doing chalking and raising their voices on the call of a singer, they can do this because of humanity. What could be the best religion other than the one that possesses humanity?
Support for Flood Victims
There is flooding in the country, and people are supporting the victims. Believers should cooperate in every form to help the victims of the flood. They have lost everything and need support.
