Sermon 1: Taqwa is Sexual affairs – Part 1
Sermon 2: Trump’s trap to make nations accept Israel
1. The Neglected Yet Powerful Segment: Human Sexual Life
The most complicated and effective segment of human life is the sexual life of man. Allah has kept this ability and power inside man. This topic is generally not discussed even though Qur’an has guided and even Ahlulbayt (a) has guided on this. But its elaboration was stopped because we consider it as bad. Even though sexual affairs have not stopped and are continuously going on in every category of man. This is a natural segment of life for which Qur’an has guided as well mentioned about its protection.
In Surah Hud, Allah has ordered Taqwa for this segment of life where it is mandatory to apply the security mechanism because it endangers the entire human life, making it lazy and undisciplined. There are many verses on this but our discussion is about the order of Taqwa which Allah has given as obligatory. Though Allah has ordered Taqwa explicitly but we have not considered this as obligatory anywhere. The most thing ordered in Qur’an is Taqwa even more than the order of Salaat and other. Qur’an has ordered this specifically in practical manner referring to the areas where protection mechanism has to be applied. These sensitive areas are generally those which are weak in terms of protection and are in continuous danger. The sexual life of man is the most sensitive part of human life.
In Fiqh as well this topic is not given importance though Qur’an has given very high importance to this segment. One reason is also not understanding the Qur’anic concepts. We refer to this area of life as “Sex” in our common terms. Every person after reaching puberty has this desire and it grows and strengthens, becoming effective on the outward and inward essence of man. We consider this as practical part of life but do not discipline it and give direction. In religious propagation there is no importance to this. When Muttahhari discussed this topic all scholars made noise that he is crossing red lines. Martyr Muttahhari and then other scholars have written books as well but they are also very basic about sexual issues and solutions.
2. The Inner Power, Freud’s Theory and Youth Crisis
The effectiveness of this subject can be understood from a various western philosopher Sigmund Freud who has done big research on this subject, elaborated it and even expressed the vastness of its effect. Many scholars have rejected his vision and termed it as extravagance. Even though this power inside man is very sensitive and powerful which has a wisdom behind this.
When I used to travel to foreign countries for religious programs in the past, I would ask them about the contemporary issues they are facing so that I can talk about it. Mostly people there said that all our youths, children are victims of sexual corruption. We are losing our generation in this sexually corrupt atmosphere. I took this topic and some even said that you have been misguided so do not speak on this. But I said let me continue.
The believer who objected on this topic, had two young children. When we did a workshop on a resort for a day, these two children took private time from me and expressed the same issue. They were both young and said that our parents have told us that we are very religious and do not even look at Na-Mahram, but this is not true. What you have mentioned in your lectures about the effects of sexual corruption destruction then it is true that we are destructed. We are living a life whereby we are completely adulterated and at home we pretend to be pious. Now we want to get out of this filth.
This is a power present naturally inside man and woman both. It gets aroused based on atmosphere and if there is no guidance then it destroys man. We need Taqwa — that is, protection — in this segment which is under extreme danger.
3. Philosophical Questions and Divine Wisdom
When I was very young, I had heard that singing is forbidden. A question would come in my mind that if this good, sweet voice singing is forbidden then why Allah has given such sweet voices to some people? He should have given a donkey’s voice to everyone, then everyone would be Muttaqi. It is not possible that Allah has kept something inside man which is of no use. Whatever Allah has kept in the creation of man are all needs of man — individually, spiritually, socially — and are not waste. These powers, abilities due to which man transgresses or becomes corrupt, are due to the incorrect use of these abilities. Their existence is based on wisdom.
In that visit one believer had come from England and had to return, but he remained there by cancelling it. He complained at the end of ten days that what I was expecting in this topic you did not mention about it. He had kept something in his mind to justify certain things which he expressed later. I discussed in those lectures about the philosophy of sex and the maximum pleasure is kept in sex. The severity of pleasure which is kept inside this and then it is made powerful as well. Like in animals this sexual arousement takes place once in a year. But for man this is present every day and every instance. Why this has been made so powerful in man? This was all discussed in those lectures, but here we will discuss about protection.
4. The Qur’anic Case Study: The People of Lut (a)
Surah Hud, Verses 77–81:
وَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ رُسُلُنَا لُوطًا سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَصِيبٌ {77}
And when Our messengers came to Lut, he was grieved for them, and he lacked strength to protect them, and said: This is a hard day.
وَجَاءَهُ قَوْمُهُ يُهْرَعُونَ إِلَيْهِ وَمِنْ قَبْلُ كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ هَٰؤُلَاءِ بَنَاتِي هُنَّ أَطْهَرُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَلَا تُخْزُونِ فِي ضَيْفِي ۖ أَلَيْسَ مِنْكُمْ رَجُلٌ رَشِيدٌ {78}
قَالُوا لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا لَنَا فِي بَنَاتِكَ مِنْ حَقٍّ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَعْلَمُ مَا نُرِيدُ {79}
They said: Certainly you know that we have no claim on your daughters, and most surely you know what we desire.
قَالَ لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ {80}
He said: Ah! that I had power to suppress you, or I could take refuge in a strong support.
قَالُوا يَا لُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَنْ يَصِلُوا إِلَيْكَ ۖ فَأَسْرِ بِأَهْلِكَ بِقِطْعٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَلَا يَلْتَفِتْ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَكَ ۖ إِنَّهُ مُصِيبُهَا مَا أَصَابَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ مَوْعِدَهُمُ الصُّبْحُ ۚ أَلَيْسَ الصُّبْحُ بِقَرِيبٍ {81}
They said: O Lut! We are the messengers of your Lord; they shall not reach you; so depart with your family in a part of the night and let none of you look back — except your wife. Surely, whatever befalls them shall befall her. Surely their appointed time is the morning; is not the morning near?
5. Societal Consequences and the Need for Divine Discipline
The commentators have talked a lot about this but focused on footnotes rather than the actual subject — a sexually sick society. Scholars debated irrelevant points like whether the guests were angels or Lut’s relation with Ibrahim — things the Qur’an doesn’t mention. The real subject is that a prophet was present, yet society was sexually deviant.
Allah has created systems to regulate all human needs — like food, for which there are halal, haram, and guidelines — and placed pleasure in these to encourage usage. The same applies to sex, which needs discipline. At that time, it was one village. Today, it is in every home. Homosexuality is legalized, even in Muslim contexts. In Pakistan, many crimes, including murders and rapes, are rooted in sexual deviance.
6. The Urgent Call for Taqwa in Sexual Matters
Qur’an has ordered Taqwa in this subject, and the most powerful Taqwa is required here. Today, everyone has found a way to satisfy this urge, but mostly outside the divine path. The power is constructive, but when not disciplined, it turns people into criminals. Like technology, which can be useful or criminally misused, sex too can uplift or destroy.
This is the most important field for Taqwa, as it affects not only individuals but families and societies — causing disputes, psychological disturbances, and breakdowns in marriages. These problems were resolvable, but due to lack of guidance, they have become severe.
SERMON 2
1. The Loss of Taqwa and the Fall of Humanity
Today, due to the lack of Taqwa, people have become adulterated and worse than swines and apes. When I went to Qom and had the opportunity to attend a live lecture by Imam Khomeini (r.a), he was addressing the seminary students. One powerful sentence from him was:
“Certain people will be taken to hell by knowledge, worship, Qur’an, and many other good religious things.”
After the speech ended, we asked seniors what the Imam meant. They explained that since we did not understand Persian, we missed the context. Imam had said that all these good things can cause destruction if Taqwa is not there.
2. Gaza: A Mirror to Global Hypocrisy
Look at where humanity has reached today — despite religion. Witness Gaza and then look at the so-called religious people. They are not killing Hamas crusaders; they are murdering hungry, starving, and thirsty children. When those starving people come to take some aid, they are bombed to death. Entire humanity is witnessing this.
The aggression is done by a limited group, while unlimited humanity is watching silently. These brutal killings hit human conscience, and still, people give hypocritical statements.
In Pakistan, they express concern for Gaza during meetings and then proceed to have lunch. They are friends of Trump, work under his directives, and then offer one statement on Gaza. This is clear hypocrisy. Today, if an animal is starved to death, it is considered a crime — but here, human beings are being deliberately starved and murdered.
3. The Global Setup for Accepting Israel
The shameful crime today is not just being committed by Netanyahu. America has made his group. They are using sanctions, tariffs, and deals to force countries to accept Israel. A campaign has begun to promote Palestine as a separate state.Our newspapers report that fourteen nations have expressed willingness to accept Palestine as a state — but this is an attempt to cover the crime, to legitimize the oppressor.
They want to have Israel accepted by Muslim nations. Agreements by Trump — like trade deals with Pakistan — aim to exploit Pakistan’s weakness and push them toward normalizing ties with Israel.
Our PM says, “We have no intention to accept Israel.” But the reality is: you don’t have the right to intend. Those who control you will make you do it. The noose is already around your neck.
4. Political Deception: The Trap of the Two-State Solution
This plan is not new. In the 1948 resolution, it was stated that Israel would be established and Palestine would be accepted later. In the Oslo Agreement, the same line was repeated. Today again, they say they will recognize Palestine — but in imagination — while granting full legitimacy to the illegitimate Israeli state.
This would be the biggest foolishness of Muslim states, to fall into this trap laid by Trump. The greatest betrayal of the martyrs of Gaza would be to accept Israel under the guise of a Palestinian state.
Even the Israeli Parliament has passed a resolution to absorb the West Bank into Israel. They have claimed Syrian and Turkish borders as theirs. Trump has endorsed this expansion. And despite all this, Muslims are supporting him after so many martyrdoms.The rulers, for lust of power, are ready to do anything.
5. Betrayal by Religious Figures and Scholars
We Shias know how much Banu Umayyah and Banu Abbas did for power — destroying religion in the process. Today’s power-hungry rulers follow in their footsteps. But my question is for the Ulama — what are you getting out of this? Have you too been enticed? Has Trump given you some offer?
And what about the people? Why have you become free laborers of Zionism? This is the time to raise your voice. The voice of the people is the most powerful voice.
6. The Only Solution: Resistance, Not Negotiation
The solution is what Imam Khomeini (r.a) said:
“The liberation of Qods will be through resistance only, not negotiation.”
Palestine and Iran have chosen the path of resistance. But treacherous elements have stabbed this resistance from behind. Yet, resistance never ends.
Iqbal said:
“My path is that of Shabbir — the path of swords, daggers, and spears. That is my desire.”
There will be attacks on Shabbir from front and back. Whoever can endure that should walk this path. Whoever is afraid, is not on the path of resistance.
7. Standing with Dignity: The Legacy of Karbala
Imam (r.a) said:
“People should separate their ways from rulers. If you want hell in the Hereafter and disgrace in this world — follow rulers. If you want honor in the Hereafter, follow the path of Imam Hussain (a).”
Despite all the attacks, Imam Khamenei (h.a) at the age of 85 is standing firm, unwavering in his stance. Resistance may face ups and downs, but it does not end.
Karbala showed that despite cruelty, resistance turned into a global movement. The martyrs of Karbala are not asking for bread. Even if you send ships of bread, they will not eat the bread of disgrace.“We are hungry — but not humiliated.”What they need is respect and resistance, and it must become a global resistance.
8. Even Non-Muslims Rise, While We Remain Silent
In Britain, the resistance movement has started — and not led by Muslims. It is being led by a pop singer.When a pop singer rises to help Palestinians but a Shia Zakir remains silent, that is a disgrace. May Allah grant salvation to the people of Gaza, awaken the Muslim Ummah, and bring disgrace in this world and divine wrath upon the treacherous rulers.
